Yes, they do. Hikvision got my attention because when I shopped for SSDs, I saw some good-looking packing with their name on it. I was surprised to see that Hikvision now has its line of SSDs. I have always associated the company with CCTV and IP cameras, so it was interesting to see them branch out into the storage market.

Hikvision is a well-known name in the CCTV market, but they have also recently entered the SSD (solid-state drive) market. I was curious to see how their SSDs stacked against the competition, so I looked at the specs.

Like any other SSD manufacturer Hikvision also comes with SATA III and NVMe interface. The company claims its drives can reach up to 560MB/s read and 520MB/s write speeds with SATA SSDs. In terms of reliability, the SSDs come with a three-year warranty. The Hikvision SSDs are competitively priced and offer good performance and reliability. In Sri Lanka, C100 is available with 240GB, but Amazon only offers 120GB. If you choose extra storage capacity, the model will be changed. Look at the price, guys! 120GB for just under 20 USD (as of 2023). Considering the price and storage options, this is a good buy.

To bring life to an old or elderly laptop or PC, I believe it will suffice. It appears to have a 3D TLC Nand a 2 million hours life cycle. Not bad for a budget SSD. The read and write speeds are excellent as well.

Can I Use Hikvision SSDs With Hikvision DVR and NVR?

I know you will ask me this question at some point. Well, if you happened to read my article regarding Can I Use SSD for DVR?. You know the answer. So for those who didn’t, the answer is Yes, you can, but don’t do that.

Although SSDs (Solid State Drives) are compatible for use in DVRs (Digital Video Recorders) and NVRs (Network Video Recorders), it is not ideal to use them. This is because DVRs are intended for reliability rather than speed. SSDs are speedy, but they will eventually wear out when writing happens frequently. For this reason, it is recommended to use a regular HDD (Hard Disk Drive) for a DVR. While SSDs may be faster, the reliability of an HDD is essential for a DVR.

Speaking of HDDs, I am recommending the following HDDs to use in your DVR or NVR.
